Dawn is a shared-living concept designed for veteran’s in transition. We are using our empathetic process to deeply understand the veterans we are designing for and the programming and supportive services that are provided. Then through research and client interviews to supplement and inform how to best tailor and slightly customize our turnkey design-build, we will deliver a holistic vision to our veterans recovery and independence. This includes a more empathetically informed site design as well as taking a critical look at material, furniture and appliance specs. In addition, we are using our Backyard ATL spec designs as a framework for architecture and design, allowing for efficient, flexible and affordable delivery of the project.
This project is being done in collaboration with Cognitive Design, who has done research with clinical psychologists to understand and give recommendations for designing for veterans in transition.
