3 Cent Studio is…
A creative residency in Hancock County, GA. Students will stay in historic Sparta in rural Hancock County for a 6-8 weeks doing socially impactful projects related to their creative discipline. The 3 Cent program will have an emphasis on understanding the existing context to foster grassroots ideas from the community. Students will catalog, document and rethink an existing place through various methods of representations (including record drawings, sketching, photography, film, and oral history). Students will document, learn and understand the successes and inevitable failures of social design and creative thinking, and these lessons will carry over to better inform the next project.
The program is multidisciplinary, and architecture, photography, film, and writing students, as well as other creative disciplines, are all encouraged to apply. For more info on 3 Cent Studio’s program, click here.
